About Rev. Tracy Barnowe
I have been an ordained minister with the United Church of Christ since 2012. I have over 20 years of experience growing organizations, and even started a few. After years as a revitalization minister, teaching growth workshops, and consulting with declining churches, I decided to start this website to get this information to more churches that need help faster.

The churches that need the most help can’t afford to make costly mistakes in their revitalization effort.

If a church needs help, there is a lot of expensive advice out there, but not all of it is effective. It breaks my heart when a church calls me for help, and then tells me all the “expert” advice they tried (or couldn’t because it was too involved or expensive), shows me the thick folders of assessments they paid for, details the conferences they attended, or the latest church fad they bought into, and they are exactly the same as they were five years ago. Worse, they have wasted thousands of dollars, years of their time, and now they are older and exhausted and firmly believe that they are simply beyond help.

I firmly believe that God gives every church everything it needs to be able to grow and thrive. If you are willing to learn new skills, you can start revitalizing your church this very next Sunday without spending a dime.

The purpose of this blog is to share only methods that have been tested and proven to be effective in all settings, and that are free or cost-effective methods. I specialize in how to get newcomers to return, the most effective form of outreach, how to design new ministries that attract new people, how to transform youth ministries, how to increase tithes and offerings, and how to reconnect churches with communities. The most important thing about all of these methods is not just that I used them successfully in my own churches. These have been tested in many churches and are guaranteed to work if you simply learn how to use them.

The reality is, most everything you need to know to grow your church is:

  • Already available and has years of evidence to back it up
  • Costs nothing to implement
  • Simple enough that anyone can do it
  • Can be done by one person all by themselves, at least in the beginning
  • Really fun and incredibly rewarding!

I can’t wait to hear all about your church! Let’s get to work!
